The shelter for residents with special needs will be East Central Community Center in Hurley. That means residents that are oxygen-dependent or have other medical needs that don't require hospitalization, and they do need to have a caregiver with them. You can pre-register at 228-762-2455.
The only Jackson County pet shelter will be in one designated area of the shelter at Vancleave High School. You need to stay with and be responsible for your own pet, which should be brought in with a carrier, food and whatever else they need.
