I'm a music-lovin' mom who does her best not to take life too seriously. I have 2 beautiful children who inherited my warped sense of humor. Yea, it was bound to happen.
Dad's a retired Colonel, so I've lived all over the place and I can tell you that there is no place like the beautiful Mississippi Gulf Coast, and you can try but chances are y'all will never rid yourselves of me.
In my spare time I write bad poetry, play the worst guitar you ever heard, read trashy romance novels vorasciously, love puzzles, am a self-confessed sci-fi geek and a card-carrying G.R.I.T. (Girl Raised In the South, in case you didn't know about us).
Drop me a line anytime, I love hearing from you and making new friends. email@example.com

And thanks to twitter and facebook and other social media, we're privy to what's going on in the minds and hearts of our friends, family and acquaintances. When my apartment was broken into a few years ago, the police were quick to keep me out of the house, they kept telling me they needed to do a search, that somebody could still be in there. I felt fear, and anger. A lot of anger. Especially when I was allowed back in and found they'd been through my personal belongings. For weeks afterward, every noise I heard had me thinking it was happening again. And this time I was home...defenseless...and the situation was going to be worse than simple burglary. Thankfully, it was just my imagination and in time, the fear faded...but there will forever be the thought 'What would have happened if?...' in the back of my mind. We live in gated communities, spend big bucks on burglar alarms, join neighborhood watch campaigns, and do all we can to prevent this kind of thing from happening. But nothing is foolproof.
Things can be replaced. People can't be. And wouldn't the world be a much better place if we all kept that in mind?

An ancient statue made as an offering to Osiris, the Egyptian god of death, that is currently housed at the Manchester Museum in England has suddenly started spinning inside its closed display case — and no one seems to know why. A time-lapse video released by the museum shows the 4000-year-old relic of Neb-Senu slowly turning around inside its case without any apparent assistance from the outside world. Found in a mummy's tomb some 80 years ago, the statue has been kept encased at the museum ever since. Makes ya wonder huh? Have you signed up to join us for a Summer Deck Party yet?
